Our J. Leland Atwood award winner was Azad M. Madni, Ph.D. from the University of Southern California.
Dr. Azad Madni is a Professor of Astronautics and the Executive Director of University of Southern California’s flagship Systems Architecting and Engineering Program in the Viterbi School of Engineering. His research interests are cross-disciplinary and focused on advancing the state-of-the-art in model-based engineering of complex, socio-technical systems, and intelligent systems. His innovative research in engineering education includes the introduction of videogames and interactive storytelling in aerospace and military education and training simulations. Prof. Madni has received numerous national and international awards from multiple organizations for his lifetime achievements, leadership, innovation, accomplishments, and service. He is a Fellow of six professional societies including AIAA, INCOSE, and IEEE.
